Forest Engineering Data Collection System
Sylva Engineer is a handheld system for recording traverses, site plans, rights-of-way, stem mapping, deflection line - slope profiles, and road surveys. It is a Windows CE program that is compatible with both Pocket PC and CE.NET and runs on handhelds having portrait or landscape display orientations, as well as handhelds with or without keyboards.

Sylva Engineer integrates with a number of PC programs, including:
- Traverse PC
- RoadEng version 1.950B or later
- LoggerPC
- Arc Info and ArcPad for CE handhelds
Sylva Engineer can be integrated with a laser system via a serial cable or with a Bluetooth connection to automatically read distance, slope % and bearing. Sylva Engineer can integrate with the following lasers:
- Criterion
- Impulse
- LaserAce
- Contour XLR Bluetooth (wireless)
