What do you have to do to prepare the Husky FS/3 to run TIMVEG? If you don't prepare the Husky correctly parts of TIMVEG may not work correctly. See item E.
How do you reset the Husky?
The following details things that are nice to know about the Husky FS/3. .
Husky FS3 tricks
Emergency Boot (reset):
This is by far the easiest way to get the FS/3 to run if it is locked up or won't turn on. I will plug the FS/3 in while doing this if I feel the Husky has not been charged in a while (it is dead).
Hold down both [w] keys, then press the ON button. Hold all 3 keys for about 4 to 10 secs. (screen should go dark) then boot up in the Husky Paw symbol screen.

Emergency Program Breakout:
I haven't found this method to be of much value.
Turn the FS3 off or remove and replace the battery cap Hold down the X and P keys Press [0N] briefly and release X and P timing is critical in this (good luck)

Leave Application Keys:
I haven't found this to be of much value.
Ctrl + paw +ESC Ctrl + ALT + ESC

Batteries:
If the FS/3 has not been used in a while, or you don't know who last used the handheld, or if it has been rebooted using method I above, the recharging function may not be turned on. To check if the recharging function is set to work you can hot key into a menu that tells you so. However, the hot key function may or may not be working, especially if it was hard rebooted using method I.
To test to see if hot key is working - press the paw key the backlight turns on - the hot key function isn't on. the backlight does not turn - the hot key function should work. In this state the
battery info can be accessed by
pressing:
[paw] + [H] at the same time.
The charge authorisation level menu should appear. You need to set the
charge authorisation level to 3 or 4 (MoF recommends 4). To do
this move the inverse video black box down to power (see key directions on
screen). Press [ENTER]
Select Power Management Mode to APM
Set the following:
power remaining to what you think appropriate
low power warning to 5%
battery chargeable YES
Battery capacity 1600 mAh (if appropriate)
Charging Authorisation 4
The handheld should now be set to recharge.
Now you will have to set the keyboard to user mode so that [PGUP] [PGDN] and the
backlight will work. To do this go to Step V.
Set for APM (Advanced Power Mgmt)
Paw + H
Charging Authorisation = Level 4

Keyboard:
There are two internal keyboards for the Husky FS3 - a developers mode and a
user's mode. The user's mode must be active in order to use [PGUP] [PGDN]
and turn the backlight on and off with the paw key. However, if the FS/3
has been rebooted it usually defaults to the developers mode, which is not
useful for users. You can test if you are in the user's keyboard mode by
simply pressing the paw key. If the backlight toggles on and off you are
set to run TIMVEG or DOS applications. If it doesn't you need to toggle to
the user's keyboard mode.
To Turn the User's keyboard on.
(to turn off the hot key and get the [PGUP], [PGDN], and backlight to work)
Leave program and be in DOS
Hold down both [w] (shift) keys
While holding press the [.] (period) key
If the backlight does not turn on when you press the [paw] key, then try the
above sequence again. Once the backlight does turn on you are set to run
handheld applications.
Note: The above sequence toggles the keyboard between the developers mode and the user's mode. In the developer's mode you can access the charging circuit authorisation (change charging functionality).
